Prepare a TIFF graphic for SVG conversion

Start with an ordinary graphic such as a simple logo, diagram or flat-color illustration. Crop away unwanted borders and export the page you need as a separate TIFF. Keep your original: changing the file format does not preserve every source detail, make scanned lettering editable, or guarantee a smaller file.

Why Choose Our TIFF to SVG Converter?

Choose the output that fits your task and inspect the converted file before using it

🚀

One file at a time

Convert one prepared TIFF, then inspect its result before starting another.

🔒

SVG output

Download the conversion result as an SVG file for use in an application that accepts SVG.

⚡

Optional dimensions

Width and height controls are available. Leave them blank to avoid requesting a different output size.

🎯

Upload-based processing

The TIFF is uploaded to the SVG AI server and may be sent to Convertio. The fallback also runs on the server.

📁

Prepare the page you need

Use a separate single-page TIFF because this page has no page-selection control.

🌐

Inspect the result

Compare the original and output at the intended display size, especially lettering, thin lines and gradients.

How to Convert TIFF to SVG

Select a source file, run the conversion, and check the result

1

Prepare one page

Save the image you need as a .tif or .tiff file up to 4 MiB. For fallback tracing, keep width multiplied by height at or below 4 million pixels. Crop unwanted margins and keep the original TIFF.

2

Upload and convert

Select the file, leave dimensions unchanged unless you need a specific size, and choose Convert. This sends the file to the server, which may use Convertio or the built-in tracing fallback.

3

Check the SVG

Download the result, compare it with the source, and open it in the application where you will use it. Check small details and confirm that any shapes you need to edit are paths.

How this TIFF conversion works

This page uploads your TIFF to the SVG AI server. It tries Convertio first; if that service is unavailable or cannot return a supported SVG, a built-in tracer can process images up to 4 megapixels. That fallback converts the first page to 8 bits per color channel and traces it into paths. Compare the downloaded SVG with your original.

There is no page selector on this tool. Extract the page you need before uploading a multi-page TIFF.

Do not rely on the SVG to retain TIFF layers, color profiles, metadata or high-bit-depth pixel values. Keep the TIFF for those requirements.

An SVG can contain both paths and raster images. Open the download in a vector editor if your project requires editable paths.

Troubleshooting the result

The file is rejected

The tool checks the file type and applies a 4 MiB TIFF upload limit.

Use a valid .tif or .tiff file within the limit. Export a smaller single-page copy from your image editor if needed.

Conversion fails after upload

The service may be unavailable, or the source may exceed the limits of the built-in fallback.

Keep the original and read the displayed error. For a pixel-limit error, resize the source to no more than 4 million pixels. Try a flattened, single-page TIFF if the error concerns the source file.

Details or colors differ

A format conversion can change the appearance of the source image.

Compare the SVG with the TIFF at the size you need. Use the original image when the changed detail is essential.

Text or shapes are not editable as expected

An SVG extension alone does not establish that all its content is editable vector artwork.

Inspect the file in a vector editor. Redraw the required shapes or recreate text when necessary.
